4.7.論多所作法
論多所作法者,謂有三種於所立論,多所作法。一、善自他宗,二、勇猛無畏,三、辯才無竭。
[]什麼是論多所作法?有三種的不同,對於所立的論,有很多的作用。哪三種呢?一、善自他宗,二、勇猛無畏,三、辯才無竭。具足這三種的功德,會有很多的作用。

VII. ATTRIBUTES OF MUCH UTILITY IN THE DEBATE
What are the attributes (dharma) of much utility (bahukara) in the debate? Three attributes are of much utility in the debate: (1) Knowledge of one's own and the other's context (svaparasamayajnata), (2) Confidence (vaisaradya), (3) Resource- fulness (pratibhana).

問:如是三法於所立論,何故名為多有所作?答:能善了知自他宗故,於一切法能起談論。勇猛無畏故,處一切眾能起談論。辯才無竭故,隨所問難皆善酬答。是故此三,於所立論多有所作。
[]問:如是三法於所立論,什麼理由說有很多的作用呢?答:能夠善巧的了知,自家的宗旨,和對方宗旨,於一切法,都會發起善巧的言論,所以多有所作。勇猛無畏故,處一切眾能起談論,所以能夠多有所作。智慧辯才沒有窮盡,所以能夠善巧回答他的難問。是故此三,於所立論多有所作。kasmād ime trayo dharmā vāde bahukarā ity ucyante/ yathāpi vādī svaparasamayajñatayā sarvatra vastuni kathāṃ karoti/ vaiśāradyena sarvasyāṃ parṣadi kathāṃ karoti/pratibhānena sarvatrābhihite uttaraṃ prayacchati/ tasmād ime trayo dharmā vāde bahukarā ity ucyante/ ime ucyante vāde bahukarā dharmāḥ/uddhānaṃ/
vādo 'dhikaraṇaṃ tasya tadadhiṣṭhānaṃ eva ca/ bhūṣaṇaṃ nigrahas tasya niśritir bahukarakāḥ/
Why are these three attributes said to be of much utility? It is this way: (1) The first speaker, by knowing one's own and the other's context, is able to make a discourse on all given matters. (2) By confidence one is able to deliver a discourse to all groups. (3) By resourcefulness one is able to offer reply to everyone who addresses [with challenge of response]. Therefore, these three attributes are said to be of much utility. The foregoing are the attributes of much utility in the debate.
